Every Stay Gives Back

Mwazaro creates jobs for about 30 people from the local community and sources from local suppliers. Business profits help fund the Kidimu School for the Deaf — a boarding school that is home to over 60 children — through the Aid Kenya Watoto e.V. foundation. Every guest contributes to this cause.

When is the best time to visit?
September to March is the driest stretch, with over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year. Kitesurfers come December – March for the Kaskazi wind (95% wind guarantee); humpback whales pass along the coast July – October.
How do we get to the lodge?
Mwazaro is about 80 km south of Mombasa. With the new bridge and the Mombasa bypass highway the transfer takes around 1 hour 45 minutes from Mombasa or Diani airports — we arrange reliable shuttles with trusted local partners, just send us your flight details.
How do we book a stay?

What are the check-in and checkout times?
Check-in is anytime; checkout is 11:00 AM. The rooms are non-smoking, and outside food & beverage isn’t permitted.
Is the beach really private?
The lodge sits on 300 meters of beach inside a private mangrove nature reserve, and it’s the only lodge on the huge shallow-water lagoon — the beach is almost exclusively reserved for our guests.
